Benign breast lumps
Surgery is only occasionally required for benign breast lumps. It can be performed with minimal scarring. Previously, surgical removal of benign breast lumps involved obvious scarring to the breast. This is no longer necessary.
Common sites for scars are at the fold crease under the breast (most benign lumps can be removed via this scar), around the nipple or in the armpit area.
Removing benign breast lumps usually leaves no visible effect on the breast other than the scar.
